Kerala has a wet and maritime tropical climate influenced by the seasonal heavy rains of the southwest summer monsoon and northeast winter monsoon. It is not so hot in summer or not so cold during winter. Summer time usually begins from February and last upto May and during this time the weather is bit hot and humid. The southwest Monsoons wash Kerala to its refreshing greenery from June and continue till the middle of October or even last till November. About 65 percent of the rainfall occurs during the first season (June to August) corresponding to the southwest monsoon and the rest during the second season (September to December) corresponding to northeast monsoon.
Kerala's rainfall averages 3,107 mm (122 in.) annually.

The peak season of the tourists starts from September to February and it is due to the blissful climatic conditions the state accounts the maximum number of visit of tourists from across the globe all the year round.
